OS X UI behavior: Camera and chat scroll

A little issue but a disturbing one.

I’m running TTC on a MacBook and I control the camera zoom by a gesture on the trackpad (2 fingers vertical sweep).

Camera zoom is working properly but when I place the “mouse” pointer on the chat panel the natural reaction is scrolling the text up and down using the same gesture but it doesn’t work, I get the camera zooming in or out.

Can you control the mouseover event on chat panel in order to fix it?

Yes. I should be able to switch scrolling to the chat panel when the mouse cursor is over the chat panel.
